HORR 2026
Last weekend, UoNBC sent 5 8+s down to the tideway to race the 100th anniversary Head of The River Race. We use this race to cap off head season and as a benchmark for where we stand in and amongst other university clubs so we can look towards BUCS and the rest of regatta season with clear and distinct goals in mind
Official Results (Results in category are bracketed):
1V – 44th (11th)
2V – 111th (31st)
3V – 137th (37th)
4V – 131st (35th)
5V (Beginner) – 229th (3rd)
There were significantly more entries to the event this year compared to last, jumping from 337 in 2025 to 370 in 2026; one of the main takeaways was that, as a squad, we must work on our aggregate performance, with the aim of bringing up our 2nd, 3rd and 4th eights to compete at the level that we know is achievable.
We leave this term with our heads held high, the squad has a very exciting easter camp ahead, with a week of rest to celebrate Easter with families, then, off to a foreign training camp at Temple-sur-Lot, France, to help with preparation for BUCS Regatta and the Summer racing programme.
As we look forward to warmer weather, we are confident as a combined squad that the miles and hours that we have put in over the winter months will pay back tenfold come the Summer of racing.
