Henley Royal Regatta 2026

Henley Royal Regatta is the pinnacle of the summer rowing calendar, and this year UoNBC sent two crews to Henley-on-Thames hoping to make their mark. Both Island A and Temple A had strong seasons behind them, but Wednesday proved to be the end of the road for both boats.

Island A arrived at Henley with a pre-qualified place already secured, sparing them the pressure of the qualifiers earlier in the week. They came up against Edinburgh B in their first race and were beaten, bringing their regatta to an early close.

Temple A took the longer route to the start line, battling through the qualifying rounds to earn their spot in the main draw. They met St Paul’s on the Wednesday and, despite a strong effort, were knocked out.

While it wasn’t the outcome either crew was hoping for, both boats can be proud of what it took to get to Henley in the first place — qualification alone is no small achievement, and racing on that stretch of the Thames against some of the best crews in the country is always a mark of a season well fought.

Thank you to everyone who supported the crews, from the coaches and cox to the friends and family who came down to cheer from the bank. Onwards to next season.
